XIAMEN, 21 January 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, in partnership with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Guangzhou (PTIC-GZ), Philippine Department of Tourism Office in Shanghai, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Xiamen Committee (CCPIT Xiamen) held the Xiamen Investment Seminar on 21 January 2026.

Speakers during the investment seminar included Mr. Froilan Emil D. Pamintuan, Head of PTIC-GZ; Mr. Francisco Hilario M. Lardizabal, Tourism Attache of the Philippine Department of Tourism Office in Shanghai (PDOT-SH); Ms. Kristine Joy D. Lorenzo, Investment Analyst from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).

The investment seminar also featured a presentation from the Xiamen Zhuorui Consulting & Management Co. Ltd. on China’s regulations on outbound investment and a testimonial from Xiamen Tyko Group on the company’s experience in investing in the Philippines.

The Chinese companies that participated in the investment seminar were Xiamen Tyko Group, Xiamen Zhuorui Consulting & Management Co. Ltd., Liangyang International (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., Huanchuang (Xiamen) Technology Co., Ltd., Master (Xiamen) Logistics Services, Xiamen Baysen Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Xiamen C&D Inc., and C&D Global Tourism Group.

In his video message, Ambassador Jaime A. FlorCruz noted the strong historical, cultural, and economic relations between the Philippines and China, the Philippines’ strategic location, and strong linkages with western markets, which make the Philippines an ideal destination for business expansion among Chinese companies.

Consul General Almeda underscored in his remarks the importance of providing potential investors with accurate and updated information regarding the Philippine business environment, investment processes, and regulatory frameworks. He also highlighted the 14-day visa-free entry for Chinese nationals, which he regard as a strong indication of the Philippines’ openness for more collaboration with China on tourism and business.

Mr. Zhu Hongqi, Deputy Director General of the CCPIT Xiamen, noted the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Xiamen and the Philippines, with such milestone events like the establishment of sister-city relations between Xiamen and Cebu City in 1984 and the establishment of Xiamen PCG in 1995. He also noted the robust trade relations between Xiamen and the Philippines with total import and export volume for 2025 reaching RMB25.446 billion, a year-on-year increase of 32.16%. He shared the hope that the investment seminar fosters wider and deeper business exchanges between the Philippines and Xiamen. END.
