Consul General Winston Dean S. Almeda delivers his remarks on the establishment of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen
XIAMEN, 27 February 2026 – The personnel of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, led by Consul General Winston Dean S. Almeda, and their dependents celebrated the 31st anniversary of the establishment of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen on Friday, 27 February 2026.
The event started with a Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by a Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Fr. Joseph Chen Tongchun of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral in Xiamen.
Consul General Almeda delivered his remarks on the establishment of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, noting that it was the first Consulate General established by the Philippines in the People’s Republic of China, after the Philippine Embassy in Beijing, and the first ever Consulate General to be established in Xiamen.
A simple lunch salu-salo with the PCG personnel and their dependents followed the day’s activity.

The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen was established on 28 February 1995 at the request of Filipino-Chinese who trace their roots to Fujian Province.
