XIAMEN, 24 March 2026 – Ms. Yang Shuanghua, General Manager (GM) of Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport (JJN), called on Consul General Winston Dean S. Almeda on 24 March 2026. She was joined by Mr. Hu Bin, General Manager of Xiamen Airlines Quanzhou Branch; Mr. Wang Xueyi, QJIA Marketing Manager; Mr. Che Jiaying, Deputy Manager of the JJN Transportation Service Department; Mr. Fang Haishan, General Manager of Quanzhou Airport Logistics Company; and Ms. Cai Xinzhu, Assistant, Route and Flight Section, JJN Marketing Department.

During the call GM Yang invited Consul General Almeda to attend the inaugural program of the Quanzhou – Cebu flight, which will depart from JJN on 29 March 2026. She remarked that the resumption of the said flight will provide an opportunity for Philippines and China to enhance cooperation on culture, tourism, trade, and investment. She also mentioned that they will meet with tourism and airport officials in Cebu during the trip. In the said meetings, they intend to promote Quanzhou’s culture and tourism, and to also discuss cargo-related business such as the importation of fruits and seafood from Cebu.

GM Hu of Xiamen Airlines Quanzhou Branch remarked that Xiamen Air is committed to people-to-people exchanges, noting that previously there were many flights to Cebu and Davao. He mentioned that Xiamen Air plans to open the Hangzhou – Manila flight and expressed the hope that the culture and tourism exchanges between the Philippines and China will revert to the same level as that of previous years.

Consul General Almeda expressed appreciation for their visit. He remarked that the Philippines is very keen to intensify exchanges with China. Consul General Almeda expressed the hope that more flight routes will be opened to further enhance connectivity and boost culture, tourism, people-to-people, and business exchanges between the Philippines and China.
