To the Filipino Community in Fujian and Jiangxi Province: The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen is pleased to inform you that the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI) is now accepting nominations in the Search for Outstanding Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to be recognized during the 2011 Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA) scheduled to be held on December 2011 at Malacañang Palace.

The BBFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization organized in 1989 to promote recognition and appreciation of the role of Filipinos Overseas Workers in Philippine society and economy, to foster high standards of responsibility, efficiency and integrity among them, and to promote the welfare of OFWs.

The BBA is a major program of BBFI to pay tribute to the country's outstanding OFWs for their significant efforts in fostering goodwill among peoples of the world, enhancing the image of the Filipino as a competent and responsible worker and contributing to the nation's foreign exchange earnings.

The nomination form, process of nomination, category of awards and the criteria for the different award categories are attached for reference.  These documents may also be downloaded from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) website: www.poea.gov.ph.
