In compliance with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s directives to make government services more accessible to the people through reduced documentary requirements, processing time and signatories for transactions, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) are pursuing the streamlining of processes in securing building permits and certificates of occupancy.
In this regard, a Joint Memorandum Circular between the DTI, DPWH, DILG,DICT, and the National Competitiveness Council (NCC) was released late last year to all Local Government Units (LGUs) advising them of reforms to simplify the issuance of construction permits.
Additionally, in partnership with Quezon City, new processes for the filing and issuance of construction permits was designed under a new Construction Permits One-Stop Shop at Quezon City Hall (14th floor) with the hope that other cities will follow suit. This one-stop shop was patterned after the Construction Permit One-Stop Shop at Valenzuela City
