University of the Philippines Open University ASEAN Studies Program
The Consulate General of the Philippines is pleased to inform that the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) will be offering online graduate courses: the Graduate Certificate in ASEAN Studies (GCAS) and the Master of ASEAN Studies (MAS) starting August 2014.
The GCAS aims to produce graduates with a comprehensive understanding and mastery of ASEAN and the countries comprising it, and who can contribute to an enhanced and heightened consciousness and awareness of the ASEAN Community’s ties in history and culture.
In addition to the aforementioned objectives, the MAS program for its part, aims to produce graduates who can apply balanced theoretical and practical perspectives in engaging issues and problems in the ASEAN region; contribute to knowledge creation, research development and sharing in ASEAN studies; as well as undertake further and advanced studies in ASEAN studies and related areas.
The program is open to post-baccalaureate individuals, professionals, diplomats, policy analysts, educators, business people, public servants, NGO staff members, development workers and others who are qualified and academically competent to pursue a graduate level education.
