stranded Filipino seafarers in Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City.
 

Xiamen City, 30 September 2021 --- The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen through the assistance of Filipino Doctor Christopher Hemady, conducted online Medical Consultations with twenty-nine (29) stranded Filipino seafarers aboard Hanrong 362, 366 and 369 in Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province amid the continued restrictions on disembarking seafarers in China brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 08 October 2021, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) through the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen sent the needed medicines and Care Packages to 29 seafarers. The seafarers will receive the Care Packages on 12 October 2021 when their Chinese handlers will distribute the said goods by boat.

The Consulate General will continue to extend assistance and support to the distressed Filipino seafarers,  until their eventual repatriation to the Philippines. END
