Officials of Xiamen's Haicang District and officers of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government meet with the Consuls General of the Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore and Kingdom of Thailand who are accompanied by business executives from their respective countries at the Haicang District Government Hall on 22 November 2011. Consul General Adelio Angelito S. Cruz led a 13-member delegation of executives of Philippine-owned companies invested in Fujian province, as well as other officers of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen to join the tour.

Participants in the Haicang tour visited three companies in Haicang including Haicang's bonded port (Freeport) area where berths 18 and 19 are located. These berths were funded by the Xiamen Haicang Xinhaida Container Terminals Co. Ltd. (XHD) with a total investment of RMBY2 billion. XHD will commence operation before the year ends. Part of the tour is Cheng Shin Tire Xiamen Co. Ltd., which was established by the Xiamen Cheng Shin Group (a Taiwan-owned company) on 28 December 2001 with a total investment capital of US$390 million. Its main products are steel and semi-steel radial tires. The third company is Dunhai Arts and Crafts Co. Ltd., which manufactures jars, plates, and ceramic decorations. The Christmas decorations including the photo shown above earned the company an income of RMBY1 billion in 2010.
