Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena inaugurated One Shang Health Care Clinic on 19 December 2021. Also in attendance during the event were the Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Xiamen, the General Manager of Hotel Kempinski Xiamen and Filipino executives and professionals in Xiamen, China.

One Shang was established by Dr. Chris Hemady, the only Filipino medical professional in Fujian and Jiangxi Provinces.  He is the first western-trained foreigner doctor legally approved to practice medicine in the Fujian area.  In 2017, he was granted the first “Chinese Green Card” among Filipinos in Fujian for his significant contributions as a foreign talent. In 2003 and 2005, he passed the medical examinations given by the Health and Sanitation Bureaus of Fujian and Guangdong, respectively and was granted a medical license to practice Internal Medicine. Dr. Hemady came to Xiamen, China in 2002 and established Lifeline Medical System, later renamed City Medical Consultancy, to provide support for expatriates living in Xiamen. In 2021, he established One Shang Health Care with his wife, Ms. Ann Jiang.

One Shang Health Care is accredited by Allianz Care and boasts of English-speaking staff nurses who have been trained in the Filipino way of providing personalized care. 

Dr. Hemady has been serving PCG personnel since 2002.
