As a predominantly Catholic country, the Philippines observes the “Holy Week” or the last week of Lent. The Holy Week see many Filipinos return to their provinces to be with family and participate in traditional practices such as processions, passion plays or “Senakulo”, and the visiting of churches or “Visita Iglesia.”
In conjunction with the National Arts Month this February, let us revisit Iloilo to witness the significance, solemnity and artistry of Visita Iglesias.
