Flores De Mayo

The celebration of Flores de Mayo or “Flowers of May” traces its beginnings just after the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception in 1854. In Flores de Mayo, the event “Santacruzan” is held, the highlight of which is a parade of the town’s most beautiful ladies wearing elegant gowns and walking under arcs adorned with flowers to celebrate the people’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

As we celebrate in February the National Arts Month, let us revisit the capital of the Philippines, Manila, and participate in the colorful celebration of Flores De Mayo, which was initially featured in May 2021.

Join us this 19 February 2022 at 4:00 PM on the official Facebook page and YouTube Channel of the DFA.

“Fiesta Filipinas Rerun: An Online Celebration of Philippine Festivals” is a project of the Department of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Department of Tourism (DOT).
