The Lami-Lamihan Festival of Lamitan in Basilan, which means “merry making” in Yakan, is a celebration of the rich culture of the Yakan tribe that promotes cultural harmony among the Yakan, Tausug, and Christian communities in the area.
As we celebrate the National Arts Month this February, let us revisit the cities of Zamboanga and Basilan and see the beauty and artistry that these places have to offer.
