Xiamen, 31 July 2022- Consul General Maria Antonina Mendoza-Oblena, with the Consulate General personnel and their families, attended the annual Filipino Sportsfest Activity organized by the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) held at the Manila-Xiamen International School (MXIS) grounds.
Dubbed Pinas Palaro 2022, the event was opened by FAX President Mr. Tecson Uy and MXIS Representative, Mr. Celso Jalac, followed by an inspirational message by Consul General Maria Antonina Mendoza-Oblena and the induction ceremony of FAX’s newly-elected officers for 2022-2024.
In her remarks, Consul General Mendoza-Oblena took the opportunity to introduce all the Consulate staff and lauded FAX for organizing the sports event that brings the Filipino community together to enjoy a day of fun, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
In addition to the sports activities, FAX also organized a food bazaar with the theme “Pinoy Fiesta.” Individual Filipinos with culinary talents as well as Filipino restaurants joined the bazaar where Filipino specialties delicacies such as chicharon, kwek-kwek, and halo-halo were served.
The event was concluded with the awarding ceremony.
