Featured alongside Zhangzhou and Xiamen photographers, the Filipino photographers focused on the theme "Finding Home in Fujian," showcasing images around Fujian province which reminded them of the Philippines, like the Jose Rizal Park in Jinjiang, a Xiamen sunset similar to a Manila Bay sunset, and fishermen at sea. Not being able to return to the Philippines for several years because of the pandemic, the photographers found comfort in some scenes around Fujian which are similar to those in the Philippines.

Consul General Maria Antonina Mendoza-Oblena gave a recorded message and thanked the Zhangzhou Municipal Government for hosting the event. She also thanked and congratulated the featured photographers through whose lens the similarities between the Philippine and Southern Chinese cultures were highlighted.

Vice Consul Elaine Mae Laruan-Hernandez who represented the Philippine delegation at the Opening Ceremony also mentioned in her speech the historical and current connections between the Philippines and Zhangzhou, among them the fact that the late Presidents Corazon Aquino and Benigno Aquino III hailed from Hongjian village in Zhangzhou City, and that several Filipino-owned and Filipino-managed companies are based in Zhangzhou.

Zhangzhou Vice Mayor Cui Weilei warmly welcomed the participants and guests and expressed his hope that the Filipino photographers will return to capture the beautiful scenes of Zhangzhou.

Jointly organized by The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, the Zhangzhou Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Zhangzhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Zhangzhou Art Museum, Xiamen Hisilk Artwork Center, Xiamen Liaison Office of Overseas Chinese Association, and the Xiamen Haoyu Culture Media, the Photo Exhibit is in two parts.
