Xiamen, 26 October 2022 - Cebu City in southern Philippines and the city of Xiamen in Fujian, China celebrate 38 years of sister-city relationship with a photo exhibit featuring the beautiful sites of the two cities at SM Xiamen Phase I Level 5.
Entitled “An Enduring Friendship Between Xiamen and Cebu, the exhibition displays the scenic beauties of Xiamen as captured by several Chinese artists and Filipino photo enthusiast Mr. Ianne G. Hernandez; as well as captivating scenes from Cebu as taken by Dr. Erwin Lim, Mr. Anthony Suralta, and Chinese photographer Mr. Wu Wei.
The Opening Ceremony of the Exhibit on 26 October 2022 featured brief remarks from Philippine Consul General to Xiamen Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena and Foreign Affairs Director General Mr. Zhang Quan as well as a video message from Mayor Michael Rama of Cebu City. Xiamen Photographers Association President, also the Vice-President of Xiamen Federation of Literary and Art Circles Mr. Yang Jingchu was present during the event.
The exhibit, which was organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government, and the City Government of Cebu, in cooperation with SM Xiamen, runs from 26 October to 7 November 2022.
