‘KAMUSTAHAN SA JINJIANG’ CELEBRATES ‘ARAW NG KALAYAAN’ IN CHINA
Xiamen, 12 June 2023 --- The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen held “Kamustahan sa Jinjiang sa Araw ng Kalayaan” on 11 June 2023 at the SM Jinjiang Sports Activity Center, in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence.
Kamustahan is a regular townhall meeting wherein the Consulate touches base with the Filipino Community. Over 150 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) participated in the event and took advantage of the services offered by the Consulate such as passporting, notarial services, and registration for overseas voting.
Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena delivered a Presentation on the rights of Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and provided the participants with information on how to access Philippine government services and assistance in China.
Meanwhile, Mr. Froilan Emil Pamintuan, Head of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Guangzhou, presented "Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan" (TNK), which details how OFWs could save, invest, start their own businesses, and create job opportunities for themselves and their families.
Dr. Chris Hemady, Medical Director of One Shang Health Consultancy, gave a lecture on women's health and provided valuable insights and information on how to prevent common health issues affecting women, who are oftentimes preoccupied with earning a living for their families while abroad.
The event was capped by a dance contest, some games, and photo opportunities. Also present during the event were some officers of the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX).
