PCG Xiamen’s Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena led PCG personnel in attending the Launching Ceremony of the ASEAN-CHINA Year of People-to-People Exchanges (ACYPPE) in Fuzhou on 1 to 2 February 2024.
Undersecretary Adonis Sulit of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Batangas’ Governor Hermilando I. Mandanas, Cagayan’s Governor Manuel Mamba, and Cebu Vice-Governor Hilario P. Davide III led their respective delegations to the aforementioned event. Undersecretary Sulit spoke at the ASEAN- China Women Entrepreneurs' Forum. The designation of 2024 as the ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchange to foster cooperation in areas including culture, education, youth, tourism, and sports, and to deepen people-to-people ties was part of the ASEAN-China Joint Statement on Mutually Beneficial Cooperation on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific adopted at Jakarta, Indonesia on 6 September 2023.
