Paintings of two (2) Filipino artists based in Xiamen - Allan Vibar and Bong Antivola, and of five (5) artists from Guangzhou - Virgilio Rommel Reyes, Marvic Gile, Mark Anthony Navida, Fernando Regencia, and Mary Joy Ann C. Tuaño were featured in the ASEAN-China Book and Art Exhibition held during the Launching Ceremony of the 2024 ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges held in Fuzhou City on 1-2 February 2024.
The exhibition featured five paintings of Mr. Reyes - “Portrait of Whang Od Oggay”, “Modern Woman Face”, “Modern Woman Face3”, “Modern Woman Face4”, and “Railway Park in Xiamen”.
Also included was “Southern Fujian Culture” which was awarded “Best City Theme Creation Award” during ACEEC Season IV by Mr. Gile. His “San Agustin Church of Paoay”, “Xinglin Pavilion in Jimei Yuangbo Garden” and “Masson Village” were also exhibited.
Other paintings featured were “Fenghuang Village at Night” and “Warrior, Chinese Opera” by Mr. Navida, “After the Rain” and “After the Rain3” by Mr. Regencia and “Lending Hands, Giving Life” and “Joyful Weavers” by Ms. Tuaño.
Xiamen’s Mr. Vibar paintings’ “Affluence, Prosperity and Education” and “Sabong” were in the Collection as well as Mr. Antivola’s “The Horse Whisperer” and “Masskara”.
The paintings were products of ASEAN Culture and Economic Exchange Center’s (ACEEC) Art Creation Season IV held in October of last year.
