Xiamen Foreign Affairs Director General Zhang Quan and Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena, in a meeting on 5 February 2024, discussed PCG-Xiamen FAO cooperation in the fields of economy, business, trade, tourism, education, culture and the arts. The two leaders reviewed the highlights of the previous year’s cooperation and outlined specific activities for 2024 that will enhance Philippines-China relations.
Xiamen FAO DG Zhang was joined by DDG Yao Jianhong and by Director Chen Ming, Ms. Zheng Liming and Ms Chen Qiaoling – all from the Consular Division; as well as by Director Ms. Guo Lin of the Asia Affairs Division.
CG Mendoza-Oblena took the opportunity to tour them around the new Consulate premises and showed them the improvements made for the Consulate to reflect Philippine culture and to showcase Filipino designs.
With CG Mendoza-Oblena during the meeting were Ms. Faith Bautista and Mr. Fubin Huang of PCG Xiamen.
During the meeting, the officials were treated to a ‘merienda’ of Filipino delicacies served ‘hotel-style’.
