UP Diliman Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II and his wife, Mrs. Maria Francia Fatima Caganda-Vistan, together with Philippine Director for Confucius Institute Dr. Lourdes Tanhueco-Nepomuceno and Chinese Director Prof. Shi Xueqin of Xiamen University visited the Philippine Consulate General on Friday, 5 July 2024.

Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena gave them a tour of the new Consulate premises before the Meeting which actually discussed the multiple facets of Philippine – China (Fujian) relations and explored avenues on how PCG Xiamen and the University of the Philippines, in particular the Confucius Institute could best serve the economic and cultural interests of the Philippines and China, particularly by promoting exchanges in these fields and organizing related events.
