On 29 June 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen received the Pasidungog Award from the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Sara Z. Duterte on 29 June 2024 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City.

Pasidungog means to “give recognition” in Visayan which aims to give recognition to individuals and institutions who have exemplary performed extraordinary feats, to serve as inspiration and paragon for the next generation, and to inculcate a sense of identity and public awareness.

Receiving the award was Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Officer Albe Rey M. Mateo on behalf of Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena. Also receiving the awards were Atty. Anika A. Fernandez, Head of the DFA Consular Office in Cebu and Ms. Jellian A. Legitimas, ATN Officer of the DFA Consular Office in Cebu.

This is in relation to the Assistance-to-Nationals extended by Post with the assistance of OMA and CO Cebu to a Filipino mother residing in Cebu, Philippines who successfully regained custody over her minor child in China

The Pasidungog was established in 2023 to acknowledge the partners of the OVP and to highlight the OVP as a dynamic institution in nation-building, committed to providing only efficient, accessible, and responsive public service for Filipinos.
