XIAMEN, 25 November 2024 ---  Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena visited the Liwayway/Oishi Production and Packaging Facilities in De’An County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi on 23 November 2024. 

CG Oblena met with Mr. Duan Qiang, Deputy Director-General of the General Office of Jiujiang Municipal People's Government and Mr. Jin Peng, Vice Mayor of De'an County of Jiujiang City. 

She also met with the seven (7) other Filipinos employed as Supervisors at the Liwayway/Oishi Plants.  Most of them worked and was trained at the Liwayway/Oishi product plant in Cavite.

Mr. Giovanni Ty Dy-Hernandez, Senior Manager and Head of Jiangxi Liwayway/Oishi plants, rendered a Presentation about the history, current status, and future expansion plans of Liwayway/Oishi in Jiangxi, in both English and Chinese languages.  He also gave the group a tour of the Liwayway/Oishi facilities.

CG Oblena first visited the Jiangxi Liwayway/Oishi Plant in December 2021.  

Liwayway/Oishi first came to China in 1993.  In 2003, it established itself at the Bao Ta Industrial Zone in De’An County.   Oishi currently runs twelve (12) factories in China with new production plants in Shandong, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Shanghai.  It manufactures 150 products consisting of sweet and savoury snacks, potato chips, confectionery, biscuits, cocoa-based products and beverages under the Oishi brand.
