Xiamen, 25 October 2024 --- Jayson Borlon, a freelance Filipino book illustrator and a member of ARTipolo group from the Philippines, won the White Egret Award at Xiamen’s Art Creation Season V for his work “Lost in Paradise.”

Borlon received a Certificate of Honor and cash award.  He joins six (6) other artists from Thailand (1), Singapore (1), and China (4) who also won the same award.  His signature art style leans on lovely anime figures depicted in realistic bold colors, creating larger than life images.

The Art Creation Season is being organized annually by the ASEAN Culture and Economic Exchange Center (ACEEC) to provide opportunities for artists all over the world to exhibit their artworks and gain recognition; thus serving as a nexus of cooperation between countries in the process.

This year’s exhibition, with the theme “Connecting the Silk Road – Impression of Hometown”, featured twenty-three (23) paintings of fourteen (14) Filipino artists – eight (8) of whom are from ARTipolo in the Philippines, four (4) from FilEstilo Guangzhou, one (1) from Xiamen, and another from the Philippine Consulate General in Guangzhou.  Nearly two hundred (200) artworks by one hundred fifty-nine (159) artists from fifteen (15) countries where exhibited.  END
