XIAMEN 30 November 2024 ---  The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen (PCG Xiamen) held the 7th of its “Kamustahan” series, dedicated primarily to Filipino teachers and aptly titled “Kamustahan sa Konsulado – Guro:  Bayani ng Kinabukasan,” on 30 November 2024, Bonifacio Day, at the Xiamen Marco Polo Hotel.

Around seventy (70) teachers and members of the Filipino community from Xiamen attended the event. The biggest number of attendees came from the Manila Xiamen International School, a Filipino-owned international school established in 1993. Thirty-three (33) of its forty-two (42) teachers came.

The 7th Kamustahan, which was likewise held in observance of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women (i.e., from 25 November to 12 December),  provided information on consular services, such as authentication of employment contracts, notarization of documents, as well as the civil registration of births, marriages and deaths.

PCG Xiamen’s Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena welcomed the attendees, and delivered a Presentation on PCG Xiamen’s mandate and services.   Filipino doctor Dr. Chris Hemady, Medical Director of One Shang Consultancy Care in Xiamen, and Clinical Exercise Physiologist Mr. Nicholas Clark, also of One Shang, provided the participants with Lectures on Health and Wellness.

The Kamustahan Series was designed and is being implemented by PCG Xiamen to provide knowledge about various aspects of Filipinos’ life in China. END
