XIAMEN 10 December 2024 --- Penelope Rosales, a scholar of Chang Kai Shek College, with her entry “I Love You Philippines” bagged the 2nd Prize - Short Video Group B, at the 3rd Silk Road International Photo and Short Video Competition held in Fujian Province, China.
Another Philippine student, Huang Anmei also got 2nd prize at the Short Video Group A category with his entry “A China-Philippines Friendship.”
Yang Yahui, with his entry “Manila Bridge, Philippines” and Shi Yatin, with the entry “Ancient Bridge by the Breezy Riverside,” both got Excellence Award of Photography Group B.
The Philippines submitted a total of ninety-five (95) entries. The Competition received a total of 2,755 entries from 68 countries.
The 3rd competition’s theme was “Old Silk Road, Young in Cultures.”
The Competition is annually sponsored by the 21st Century Maritime Cooperation Committee and Fuzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. It is held to strengthen exchanges among young people along the Silk Road.
Penelope Rosales was invited by the organizers to be present during the Opening Ceremony but was unable to attend.
PCG Xiamen’s Consul Charleson Hermosura, Faith Bautista, and Fubin Huang witnessed the awards ceremony on 6 December 2024 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. END
