Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena welcomes Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro to the Chancery
Xiamen ,16 January 2025 – Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro visited the new Chancery of the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen (Xiamen PCG) on 16 January 2025. The visit coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Establishment of Xiamen PCG, as well as the first anniversary of the Consulate at its new home at No. 4 Consulate Road, Siming District.
Undersecretary Lazaro was joined by the members of the Philippine delegation to the 10th Philippines-China Bilateral Consultation Mechanism on the South China Sea.
Consul General Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena provided a brief background on the establishment of Xiamen PCG and gave a tour of the new Chancery which boasts of a balcony reminiscent of the first waving of the Philippine flag at Kawit, Cavite. She also showed the different tapestries of traditional textiles woven in the different regions in the Philippines as well as the different paintings and works of art made by Filipino artists that are on display at the Chancery.
A simple merienda which includes pansit and lumpiang shanghai prepared by a Filipino chef was served during their visit. END.
