CONGEN FLORES GRACES OPENING OF EXPAT FILIPINO PHOTO EXHIBIT

 

Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores attended the opening of “Square Hues: Yunshuiyao” photo exhibit conducted by Mr. Jose Noel “Bong” Antivola, a Xiamen based Filipino at The Shop on 13 May 2014.

The exhibit showcased 10 of Mr. Antivola’s black and white photographs featuring  local Xiamenese going about their day to day activities.  Aside from the photographs on display, a slide show consisting of 150 photos by Mr. Antivola taken in the last seven years in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau and different parts of China, was presented.

Mr. Antivola is currently the Art Director of Regency Bone China Ltd., a foreign-invested tabletop design company in Xiamen.  He founded Xiamen Photo Plus, primarily for Filipino photography enthusiasts.  The group grew to include other active members from China, Spain, the US, Tunisia, the UK, Chile, Argentina and other countries.

The Consul General commended Mr. Antivola for his contributions to Xiamen’s cultural landscape and active participation in the activities of the Filipino community and the Consulate General.
