The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen is pleased to announce that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Xiamen has agreed to hold an additional English-language Liturgical Service every Sunday at 5:00 in the afternoon at Xiamen Island’s Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, beginning 13 July 2014, Sunday.
The decision came after Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores met with Xiamen Bishop Joseph Cai Bingrui.
More commonly known as the “Lundu Church”, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church is Xiamen’s Cathedral, serving as the seat of the Diocese of Xiamen. It is located at No. 15 Ci An Street, Xiamen City (Chinese: 玫瑰堂(天主教堂),厦门市磁安路15).
Filipino Catholics and other faithful from all parts of the world who are living, working or only visiting in Xiamen are invited to support the new Mass schedule, which is part of the Diocese’s efforts to better serve the spiritual needs of Roman Catholics and Christians in Xiamen.
The English-language Mass held every Sunday morning at 9:30 at Gulangyu Catholic Church (Christ the King Church) will still be maintained by the Diocese of Xiamen.
