Bowling Event Draws Filipinos from all over Fujian
As part of the celebration of the 116th Philippine Independence Day, the Filipinos in China (FINCH), the Filipino community organization based in Quanzhou City, held a Bowling Tournament on 22 June 2014. At least 200 Filipinos from Quanzhou, Shishi, Fuzhou and Xiamen cities participated in the event that coincided with the oath-taking ceremony of the new set of officers of FINCH for 2014-2016.
PCG Xiamen, headed by ConGen Flores, extended its full support to the event with some of its personnel joining the tournament. In his remarks, ConGen Flores expressed appreciation to FINCH as a catalyst in bringing together Filipinos from all over Fujian, thereby forging unity, friendship and camaraderie among the participants and their friends. He also appealed to all Filipinos in Fujian to be always mindful of local laws, specially in the wake of increasing number of cases involving overstaying and drug-related offenses.
