FILIPINO COMMUNITY IN XIAMEN CELEBRATE EASTER 2015

The Filipino community in Xiamen through the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) celebrated Easter week with the 2015 Easter Bingo on Sunday, 05 April 2015 at the Philippine Consulate General grounds. The event was an opportunity for the Filipinos in Xiamen to get together during the Easter holiday, which was attended by at least 150 OFWs and their foreign friends who enjoyed Filipino hospitality and goodwill. The event is one of several fundraising activities organized by FAX annually to support their various socio-cultural activities for the year.

In his remarks, Information Officer Jose Rey B. Madrilejos, thanked the FAX officers for organizing an event for a good and worthy cause. He also took it as an opportunity to remind the OFWs of the continuing efforts of the Philippine government to curb illegal drug activities involving OFWs, particularly those travelling to China.  END
