The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen, led by Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores, began intensifying its Overseas Voters (OV) registration efforts with the kicking-off of an OV activity on 31 May 2015 to motivate Filipino churchgoers within the premises of the Xiamen Cathedral/Church of the Holy Rosary in Xiamen City.

The Consulate General undertook the initial OV registration event prior to and after the regular Sunday English mass service in cooperation with the Diocese of Xiamen, led by Bishop Joseph Cai and Parish Priest, Father Joseph. The Sunday mass is regularly attended by 200-300 churchgoers, including Filipinos, Chinese and other expat Catholics.

The Consulate General intends to undertake similar registration events at the Xiamen Cathedral prior to the end of the OV registration period in October 2015.

Consul General Flores was assisted by the Consulate General’s OV Secretariat and supported by staff members. END
