 The 18th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) successfully opened in Xiamen City on 08 September 2015. The 4-day event, which was co-sponsored by China’s Ministry of Commerce, the Fujian Provincial Government and Xiamen Municipal Government, is a platform for both local and overseas entrepreneurs and business experts to explore and collaborate business opportunities.

 

A total of 635 government and business delegations from 105 countries and regions participated in this year’s CIFIT while 10 Chinese provinces and cities such as Shaanxi, Hainan, Jiangxi and Shanghai carried out promotional activities during the fair. More than 30 Silk Road countries and regions participated in the 2015 CIFIT, including Bahrain, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Hungary, Kyrgyztan and Kazakhstan.

 

The Philippines was represented by the the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. headed by Mr. Tomas T. Ang and the Xiamen Biogen Pharma Import & Export Trade Co. Ltd represented by its President, Mr. Lucio S. Ong.

 

At least 4,000 local and international firms participated representing various sectors such as, pharmaceutical and medical field, agriculture, e-commerce, special economic zones, economic parks, transportation, water, food and food-processing, fisheries, environmental protection, leather and clothing, arts and crafts, stone and wood crafts, wine business, tea sector, banking, and tourism.
