The Philippines retained the championship in the recently concluded “2015 Friendly Bowling Tournament” between the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand held at the C&D Bowling Center in Xiamen City on 18 October 2015.
The Philippines bested Singapore to retain the Championship trophy. The Philippines also won this event previously in 2003, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014. Like last year, Thailand joined the event this year as a guest team fielding players only in individual events.
In the individual events, Singapore triumphed by winning the top three men’s awards as well as the top female and third place awards. The Philippines took the second place honors in the female category.
This annual tournament is co-organized by the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) and the Singaporean and Thai communities in Xiamen and in cooperation with the Consulates General of the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Singapore hosted this year’s tournament.
Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores led the Philippine contingent comprising of PCG staff and members of the Filipino community from Xiamen, Quanzhou, Jinjiang, and Shishi cities. END
