Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores visited recently Nanchang City, capital of Jiangxi Province, and called on Mesdames Huang XiaoYan and Gan Yuhong, Director and Deputy Director respectively, of Nanchang’s Foreign Affairs Office (FAO).
Consul General Flores conveyed the greetings of the Philippine Government and the Filipino people to the city of Nanchang. He underscored that it was opportune time to further nurture the relations between Nanchang City and the Philippines, particularly in exploring cooperation in the fields of trade and investments, tourism and education. He also thanked Nanchang City for hosting Filipino workers, specially teachers and musicians.
Director Huang cited that Nanchang City could play a vital link in enhancing relations with the Philippines and proposed that this could be undertaken through the establishment of a sister-city partnership. Nanchang City currently pursues active partnerships with 14 sister-cities from all over the world, including Japan, South Korea and the US.
Nanchang City is a bustling metropolitan area of 6 million people, and is Jiangxi Province’s financial, trace and commercial hub. Filipino educators and musicians currently work in Nanchang City and its environs. END
