The Manila-Xiamen International School (MXIS) celebrated UN Day on 30 October 2015 with the theme “Travel Around the World” highlighted by several lively and colorful dance and musical performances by MXIS students and faculty members.
The event also featured a competition among grade levels based on their country presentations.
It was well attended with a big crowd of 500 guests and visitors, including Post’s officers and staff.
In his message, Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores the undersigned commended the school’s administration led by Chairman, Engr. Roman T. Go and his wife and the school’s administrator, Dr. Mildred Go, the faculty and students for its continued annual celebration of the UN Day demonstrating its universal orientation as an academic institution as well as utilizing the event as an effective approach for MXIS students to gain a better appreciation and understanding of the different cultures and peoples from all over the world.
Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores posed a challenge to everyone, particularly the MXIS students, to continually learn the different cultures and peoples of the world as an effective way to generate and nurture friendship and understanding for a peaceful co-existence between nations and peoples, in itself the primary objective of the United Nations.
