Philippine Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores visited Metrobank Quanzhou on 26 November 2015 and met the bank’s officials led by Mr. Wu Jing, General Manager, Mr. Lewis Liu, Manager, Corporate Banking Department, Ms. Catherine Shi, Lending Administration Officer, Corporate Banking Department, and Mr. Nhesthy Ong, Relationship Manager (the only Filipino expat).

Consul General Flores, along with Post’s officers, visited Metrobank Quanzhou to network with its officials and discuss collaborative projects, including art exhibitions and seminars for OFWs  situated in the Quanzhou area (such as Gender and Development/GAD related events).

Metrobank China has branches in Nanjing (main office), Changzhou, Shanghai and Quanzhou and has a representative office in Beijing.

It is the biggest Filipino-owned bank in China and currently the only Philippine bank authorized to conduct universal transactions all over China. Metrobank’s owner, Mr. George Ty, is originally from Quanzhou City. END
