Philippine Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores met recently with Mr. Yorick Jiang and Miss Terry Shen, Assistant General Manager and Sales Manager, respectively, of Citi Base Company, a newly established export and trading company located in Xiamen City’s Free Trade Zone.
Mr. Jiang is inviting suppliers from all over the world to export their products through Citi Base which offers the following services: securing local (Xiamen City) customs clearance and other logistical and administrative requirements, marketing, promotion, retail and wholesale distribution of goods from the suppliers.
Unlike other companies, Citi Base will deal directly with the suppliers to avoid additional costs to enable the products to be competitive in the market. The suppliers will also set both the retail and wholesale prices of their respective products to be sold by Citi Base in their newly built complex measuring 31,000 square meters, which is expected to be launched between 31 March to 01 May 2016.
Citi Base would provide a great opportunity for Filipino business establishments who are having difficulty penetrating the Chinese market due to various reasons such as securing customs export clearances and other requirements, sustained promotion and outlet for their products. Citibase is inviting Filipino firms to visit their facilities in Xiamen prior to the said scheduled opening.
Consul General Flores underscored to Citi Base that, while there are currently some Philippine products available in the local market, there still remains a wide range of quality and affordable Philippine export products that needed to be introduced and promoted in Xiamen/Fujian and China, including fruits, vegetables and marine products.
