Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) held its annual “Barkadahan Sportsfest 2016” at the Manila-Xiamen International School (MXIS) grounds on 08 May 2016. The event was attended by 160 Filipinos from Xiamen, Jinjang, Quanzhou and Zhangzhou cities attended the annual sports event.
In his remarks, Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores, commended FAX for organizing the annual sports event on its 18th edition, that brings together the Filipinos for a day of fun, sportsmanship and camaraderie as well as generates harmony and unity among all Filipinos in Fujian. He also took the opportunity to encourage all Filipinos to vote on the eve of the final voting day on 9 May 2016.
Among four (4) participating teams (White, Yellow, Green and Purple Teams), the Yellow Team emerged victorious as the overall champion; winning all the Tug-of-War games, badminton, volleyball and basketball events. The Yellow Team garnered a total of 203 points followed by the Purple Team with 194 points, the White Team with 183 points and the Green Team with 165 points.
This year’s sports activity attracted a considerable number of participants coming from many parts of Fujian which is eagerly awaited by many Filipinos. END
