Consul Ria Gorospe attended the Graduation Ceremony of the 11th Foreign Government Officials Chinese Class on 04 July 2016 at the HuaQiao University in Xiamen City. A total of 132 police officers from the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia Indonesia, Cambodia and Suriname attended the 10-month Chinese language course.

In this year’s edition, the Philippines was represented by four (4) Philippine National Police (PNP) officers namely, PCInsp. Luisa D. Candido, Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), National Headquarters, Camp Crame, PCInsp. Emerson O.Sales, PNP Information Technology Management Service, PSInsp. Gilbern Franje Banderado, Cagayan De Oro Police Office (Region 10), and PSInsp. Jericho Victorino, R1, National Capital Region Office (NCRPO).

Chief Superintendent John Q. Sosito, PNP Deputy Director of Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development represented the PNP during the graduation ceremony.

In a brief remarks during the ceremony, Consul Gorospe congratulated all the graduates as well as thanked HuaQiao University for hosting the Chinese culture and Mandarin courses for ASEAN member countries’ government officials including police forces both as a means to boost relations between China and ASEAN as well as increase people-to-people contacts between the countries.

Consul Gorospe also mentioned that the Consulate General will recommend participation by government officials from the immigration, tourism, and other sectors in similar programs in the future to further strengthen friendship and understanding among our countries and peoples. END
