Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores met on with Mr. Chen Dongsu, President, Xiamen Food Industry Association, together with Mesdames Li Huaduan and Wu Liping, Director for Marketing and Vice General Manager, respectively, of Xiamen Food Industry Association.
Mr. Chen visited the Consulate General to extend the invitation to the 14th China (Xiamen) International Food Procurement Fair and 2016 South Food Industry Exhibition scheduled to be held on 25-27 November 2016 at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center (Halls A3 and A4).
The event will be organized by the private sector for the first time which was previously organized by the government with the support of the private sector.
Consul General Flores assured Mr. Chen of Post’s support and further assured him that the invitation to the food expo will be forwarded to the government sector, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) as well as directly to Philippine companies, both based in China and the Philippines, as this would provide a good platform for cooperation between the Philippines and Fujian province as well as an opportunity to increase people-to-people contacts particularly in the food industry.
This Exhibition would be another good opportunity for the Philippine food industry to penetrate the Fujian market which has opened its doors to foreign products particularly from Southeast Asia. END
