Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores visited Powercity Electromechanical & Equipment Co., Ltd. factory in Jinjiang City on 21 September 2016. The company, owned and managed by Mr. Wilson Lua (a Fujian native married to a Filipina), was established in 1993 in Pasig City, Philippines and supplies their products to Globe Telecom, Smart Communications, Luzon Hydro Corporations, Alcatel Philippines, Nextel Coomunications, Northern Telecoms, Lucent Technologies, Hutama Skyway Project and other major establishments in the Philippines.
Powercity-Philippines, with its dynamic team of engineers provide the software backbone while its Fujian counterpart serves as its manufacturing arm.
Powercity is one of the largest distributors of home, commercial and industrial power generators in the Philippines. Their products include soundproof and waterproof generators, generator load banks (dummy load), automatic transfer switches (ATS), marine engines and generators, solar and wind power systems, electrical conduits, accessories, unistrut channel, clamps and dc fan ventilation. They also offer industrial electrical sales, design, installations and repairs.
Aside from supplying power generators, the company also maintains more than 3,500 Globe Telecom cell sites all over the Philippines. Mr. Lua expects his business in the Philippines to further expand as the Philippine government pushes for more investments on renewable energy sources.
Presently, Powercity exports its products in the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, the US, South America and Asia.
As part of the Consulate General’s economic diplomacy thrusts, Consul General Flores will continue to pursue more factory visits in its jurisdiction to promote and strengthen partnerships between Fujian-based establishments and their Philippine counterparts. END
