The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen reports the successful turn-over of a package of publications/materials comprising ASEAN-DFA materials and a set of CCP Encyclopedia from the National Commission on Culture and the Arts to the Xiamen University’s Nanyang (Southeast Asia) Institute on 14 October 2016 to commemorate ASEAN Day (49th Founding Anniversary).

Consul General Flores turned-over the abovementioned materials to Professor Shi Xueqin, Vice Dean, Xiamen University’s Nanyang (Southeast Asia) Institute together with the faculty, staff and students.

Professor Xueqin conveyed her appreciation to the Consulate General for its valuable contribution for the promotion of the ASEAN and the Philippines to Nanyang Institute. She further expressed appreciation that such gesture of goodwill will inspire their students and further enhance their knowledge of the ASEAN and the Philippines as well.

The Consulate General’s cultural diplomacy thrusts for 2016 and beyond is to continue strengthening its linkage with Xiamen University’s Nanyang Institute through various collaborative undertakings including support to its library collection (of ASEAN, Filipiniana, and other relevant publications/materials) among others.
