The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen is pleased to report that Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores and the officers and members of the Philippine Colleges and Universities China Studies Association, Inc. (PCUCSA) revisited Xiamen University’s Nanyang (Southeast Asian) Institute on 15 October 2016 to explore possibilities of cooperation and linkages.

Professor Shi Xueqin, Vice Dean, welcomed Dr. Epifania V. Tabbada, President, who led the PCUCSA delegation together with Dr. Justina Evangelista, Vice President; Ms. Mae Bernardes, Secretary; Ms. Liza Kho, Treasurer; Engr. Mirriam Borja, PRO; Hazel Estrella, Auditor; and members Ms. Emeteria Dalisay and Mr.Rommel Dasalla.

PCUCSA is an alliance of educational institutions registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) convened to promote Chinese language and culture in the Philippines.

Furthermore, the aforementioned delegation also paid a visit and courtesy call to Consul General Flores at the Consulate General’s Bulwagang Bagumbayan/Heroes Hall on 17 October 2016.

Consul General Flores expressed appreciation to Dr. Tabbada and the PCUCSA for their valuable contribution to the promotion of the Chinese language, heritage and culture in the Philippines as well as pursuing international linkages for exchange of ideas among institutions engaged in China Studies, which all redound to strengthening people-to-people contacts between the Philippines and China.

The Consulate General looks forward to future collaborative undertakings between PCUCSA and the Xiamen University’s Nanyang (Southeast Asia) Institute. END
