The Philippine Consulate in Xiamen reports that the Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) has successfully organized a Children Outreach Program 2016 at the Xiamen Children of Promise Social Work Service Center for Families With Special-Needs Children, a non-profit help center for families with disabled children based in Jimei, Xiamen City,Fujian, China on 22 Oct 2016.

The program was highlighted by the guests interacting with the children during playtime, workshops and gift giving activities.

Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores commended the FAX for organizing the outreach program as well as the volunteers in the center for making a difference in the everyday life of the children with disabilities. It was underscored that FAX’s gesture reflects fully that Filipinos thrive in “a caring and sharing” society and region where respect for human life and dignity is highly upheld.

FAX’s supporters/sponsors also attended the event including those from SM-Xiamen, Postal Savings Bank, Arrail Dental, Yibo Craft, Wyndham Grand Hotel, Marco Polo Hotel and Manila-Xiamen International School (MXIS).

The Consulate General supports FAX’s various events held throughout the year that contribute in the socio-cultural development as well as humanitarian relief efforts of the Filipino community as well as the local populace in Xiamen and Fujian Province. END
