Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores recently visited the Hao Hua Zhongyi GFRP Co. Ltd. (Zhongyi), a state-owned company producing heavy duty Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) products (fiber glass) in Jinjiang City.

The company, which has its main office in Beijing, is registered under the Hebei Industry and Commerce Administration with a registered capital of RMB50 million (US$7.5 million). It produces a variety of FRP products including FRP pipes, FRP thermal insulation pipes, Reinforced Plastic Mortar Pipes (RPMP) and their corresponding fittings from DN25mm to DN10000mm, FRP vessel, tower and pressure vessel within DN25000mm as well as other FRP gratings and other customized products which are widely used in many fields, including, water, petroleum, chemical, mining, power, electricity and others.

In November 2008, Zhongyi supplied FRP pipes to Sunwest Power Corporation in the Philippines for the latter’s hydropower project in Cavite province.

Zhongyi prides itself in its products which it claims are resistant to corrosion, pressure and heat (from -70˚C to 150 ˚C), and poison-free (non-toxic) hence can be used to transport food-grade liquid.

Zhongyi General Manager Zhang You Guo expressed hope that they can supply their heavy duty FRP products with lifetime guarantee to other companies in the Philippines. Zhongyi imports its raw materials from Italy. More importantly, Mr. Guo informed that they are interested to invest in the Philippines to manufacture fiber glass boats, given the maritime geography of the country as well as the robust demands of the fishing industry.
