The Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) organized its annual Christmas party on 03 December 2016 at Kempinski Hotel, Xiamen. This year’s theme “Christmas Runway”, was attended by more than 500 guests including Post’s officers and staff, the Filipino community and their Chinese and foreign friends.

Consul General Flores commended the FAX’s officers and its members for organizing the annual event which largely contributes to the promotion of the Philippine Christmas traditions as well as strengthening the bonds and camaraderie of the Filipinos and their Chinese and foreign friends in Xiamen and Fujian. Consul General Flores took the opportunity to announce to the Filipino community the commencement on 01 December 2016 the OV registration for 2019 national elections. Consul General Flores also expressed deep appreciation for the continued support of FAX to the Consulate General’s various cultural, socio-economic and other related initiatives and programs for the year 2016.

Furthermore, Consul General Flores assisted FAX’s awarding of plaques of appreciation and the raffle draws to various awardees and winners.

As part of the event’s entertainment portion, the faculty and students of the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) and 3 Filipino bands performed to the delight of the large crowd. END
