The Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) organized a “Sunday-Funday” Bingo event held at the Consulate General’s grounds on 09 April 2017.

The FAX event coincided with “Araw ng Kagitingan” (Day of Valor), which commemorates the heroism of Filipino and American soldiers during the World War II in Bataan and Corregidor.

In brief remarks, Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores underscored the gallantry and bravery of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the infamous “Death March”.

Consul General Flores also conveyed Consulate General’s appreciation to FAX officers and members for organizing the event which further strengthens the camaraderie and friendship among Filipinos in Xiamen and environs as well as with their Chinese and foreign friends and contacts.

The Consulate General’s officers and staff and more than 200 Filipino and foreign guests participated in the bingo event. It is one of FAX’s fund raising activities for 2017.

Consul General Flores further expressed Consulate General’s continued support to socio-cultural events organized by various Filipino Communities (FilCom) in Xiamen and Fujian which plays a vital role in contributing to the accomplishment of Consulate General’s cultural diplomacy thrusts.
