The Filipino Association in Xiamen (FAX) successfully organized the 19th Barkadahan Sportsfest 2017 held at the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) Gymnasium on 07 May 2017.
The sports festival is an annual event for the Filipino community in Xiamen organized by FAX. Around 150 members of the Filcom and Consulate General’s officers and staff participated in the different sports such as badminton, basketball, volleyball and other team building sports.
In his opening remarks, Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores conveyed appreciation and commended FAX’s officers and its members for successfully organizing the annual sports event. The participants were encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle through sports that would further strengthen friendship, sportsmanship and camaraderie among the members of the Filipino community. He also encouraged the Filipinos to register for the 2019 senatorial elections since the Consulate General brought its OV Team to MXIS.
Lastly, Consul General Flores conveyed appreciation to Engr. Go, MXIS Chairman and Proprietor for his continued support to the Filipino community in Xiamen and to Consulate General’s various socio-cultural programs and activities.
