Consul General Julius Caesar A. Flores was the Guest Speaker at the 24th Commencement Exercises of the Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) with its theme, “Batch 2017: Celebrating Achievements, Pursuing Opportunities” held at the Grand Ballroom, Le Meridien Hotel, Xiamen City on 08 June 2017.
Consul General Flores delivered an inspirational message for the 2017 batch of 12 graduates anchored on that a.) “life is experiential and full of challenges”; b.) learning is a never ending process; and c.) “opportunities abound for self-advancement”. Consul General Flores conveyed his warm felicitations to the graduating class for the milestone event, a tribute in itself to both the graduating class as well as to the institution and to the faculty members.
Consul General Flores also conveyed his appreciation to the MXIS administration and faculty staff in recognition of their valuable role in molding every student and their accomplishments in the present and in the years to come.
The graduating class, coming from Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, and Japan among others, was also inspired by the valedictory and salutatory messages of Ms. Tsai Wei of Taiwan as well as of Mr. Hyun Kim of Korea respectively.
All graduates intend to pursue university education with majority of them being accepted in reputable institutions in the US and the Asia-Pacific region with scholarships.
The graduating class capped the commencement exercises by honoring their proud parents with the traditional Rose Ceremony.
MXIS is one of the educational institutions in the Asia-Pacific Region which offered an International Baccalaureate (IB) Program since 2006 and the first international school established in 1993 since Xiamen became an economic zone in 1980s END
