Representatives from the Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen attended Fujian Province’s celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 10th Fujian Friendship Award Ceremony on 29 September 2017 at the Shangri La Hotel in Fuzhou City, the capital of Fujian Province.

Vice Governor Li De Jin of Fujian Province welcomed the guests which included Consul General Tajtai Tmangraksat of the Royal Thai Consulate and Consul General Chi Chiew Sum of the Consulate General of Singapore in Xiamen.

In his welcome remarks, Vice Governor Li highlighted Fujian Province’s exceptional growth, and thanked the friends of Fujian province in contributing to this growth.

Consul General Tmangraksat, representing the ASEAN Consulates, also commended Fujian’s notable rise in China, and congratulated the officials in the hosting of the recently-concluded BRICS Summit. He emphasized the need for deeper and more comprehensive ties between Fujian and ASEAN.

The Fujian Government also conferred awards to 10 foreigners working in Fujian who have excelled in their area of work and contributed to Fujian society.

The event culminated with a sumptuous dinner hosted by the Fujian Government.
